| Valais has been a winegrowing area for thousands of years, it stands out for the quality and diversity of its wine. The “The Valais Wine and Vine Museum” retraces the history of this exceptional mountain viticulture, nourished by tradition and passion. The museum is split into two: the “Wine Area” at the Château de Villa in Sierre and the “Vine Area” in the Maison Zumofen in Salgesch. A superb path links the two sites through the vines.

Rainer Maria Rilke Foundation - Sierre - Valais |

Located in the “Pancrace de Courten” house (1769) the foundation is dedicated to the great European poet from Prague who lived in the Château de Muzot in Veyras between 1921 and 1926. It has a permanent exhibition entitled “Valais through Rilke’s eyes”, and a library with around 7,000 titles and archives.

Charles-Clos Olsommer Museum - Veyras - Valais |
|
| In 1912, Charles Clos Olsommer, an artist from Neuchâtel, then aged 29, moved to Veyras where he would live until his death in 1966. Marked both by symbolism and art nouveau, his work is displayed here in the place it was created. Apart from temporary exhibitions about the painter’s work, the museum also offers educational activities for children.
